Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER PAUL MYKETIUK 1929 - 2002 Peter Myketiuk passed away calmly at the Selkirk General Hospital on Monday, December 16, 2002 at the age of 73 with his son and his sons fiancee by his side. He was predeceased by his wife Elsie Myketiuk in 1996. He is survived by his one son Ken (Laura) his stepgrandchildren, Elizabeth and Robert; his four sisters and friends. Peter was born July 12, 1929 and was raised in Poplar Park, MB on a farm with his parents until 1967, when he and Elsie bought their own farm in Libau, MB. In 1973 they moved from Libau to a large farm in East Selkirk where he spent his days farming until his passing. Peters greatest joy was farming. During this time he also worked for Electro-Knit Fabrics from 1974-1979 and drove a school bus for the Lord Selkirk School Division from 1981 to 1994. Peter enjoyed working on vehicles and small engines as well as gardening. He also enjoyed spending time in town visiting the local coffee establishments while enjoying life around him. As requested cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held on Friday, December 20 at 1:30 p.m in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, with Rev. Pat Petrauskas officiating. Special thanks to the nurses, staff and Dr. Badenhorst at the Selkirk General Hospital. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
