TERRY (SAM) JAMES SORENSON It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, Daddy, son, brother and uncle, Terry (Sam) James Sorenson. After a courageous battle, on December 17, 2002, with his wife by his side he left us here on earth to watch over us from heaven. He will be sadly missed by his wife Cheryl; son Zachary; daughter Chloe; parents, Jim and Betty Sorenson; brother Ted (Gail) sisters, Shirl (Jim) Seggie, Elaine Colley, Karen (George) Medwid, Diane (Blair) Smith; nieces and nephews, Stacy, Brent, Michelle, Mat, Mike, Nick, Chris, Lindsay, Ashley, Tyler, and Cassie; grandmother Tot Tully; mother and father-in-law, Larry and Lillian Procyschyn; brothers-in-law, Dave (Char), and Mark; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends. He was predeceased by his grandfather Charles Tully; grandparents, Bill and Grace Sorenson; and niece Kimberley Seggie. Sam truly did believe in living life to the fullest. Starting school at Woodlands Elementary and continuing at Warren Collegiate, he was an avid hockey, football and baseball player: playing hockey with the Warren Pee-Wee, Midgets and Mercs; football with the Warren Wildcats; and baseball with Woodlands and Stonewall. He won many trophies and awards for the sports he played. While in Winnipegosis he coached hockey, curled and became a member of the Elks. Terry was also an avid golfer and did shoot a hole-in-one once. Sam met Cheryl and they married in August 1994 and moved to Winnipegosis where they settled. The arrival of Zach and then Chloe truly were the biggest high-light of his life. Throughout his life he worked for the Marquette Co-op, Riddle Farms, Manitoba Telephone System, Winnipegosis Shell dealer, and Lytwyn Farms. The purchase of their farm fulfilled a lifelong dream for Sam. He was very active in the community and made many new friends. Terrys life in the end truly was for his family, he cherished Cheryl, Zach and Chloe. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 20 at 1:00 p.m. in MacKenzies Funeral Chapel, Stonewall, MB. Interment to follow at the Meadow-Lea Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a trust fund for Zach and Chloe, c/o The Dauphin Plains Credit Union, Winnipegosis or South Interlake Credit Union, Stonewall or to Manitoba Cancer, Heart and Stroke Association, or Manitoba Lung Association. "You never asked for favours Yet you did them every day. You never asked for any help Yet you gave so much away. You never asked for gratitude And yet, our whole life through Well be forever grateful For your precious love and you." Sam will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by everyone. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, in care of the arrangements.
