ROSE JOAN SHAW (nee SANDY) On Sunday, December 15, 2002, at the Health Sciences Centre, Rose Shaw passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Rose is survived by her son Arthur Shaw; daughter Lynda; granddaughter Dawn; sister Eileen Tryhuk and husband Walter; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved Abby. Rose was predeceased by her husband Arthur; parents, Eva and Alexander Sandy; sisters, Natalie Weidman and Margaret Mowdy; brother Joseph Sandy; grandson Ken Semkiw Jr. and Molly. Rose was educated at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic School and Saint Marys Academy. She enjoyed a successful, 34 year career as District Personnel Manager with K-Mart. In this capacity, Rose touched the lives of many young people and was instrumental in motivating and encouraging them to discover their hidden talents. Rose was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church. Divine Liturgy will be held on Thursday, December 19 at 10:00 a.m., at the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Ave. with Fr. Athanasius McVay, OSBM officiating. Private family interment to take place at a later date. Pallbearers will be Joe Sandy, Walter Sandy, Bryce Hallick, Jack Bashucky, Bill Bashucky and Mark Filips. The family wishes to thank Dr. Terry Babuk, Pat Harris and Dr. Kroeker for all their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations in Roses memory may be made to Darcys ARC, (Animal Rescue Centre), 1793 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, R2X 1J9 or to the St. Nicholas Elevator Fund care of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Ave. GREEN ACRES FUNERAL CHAPEL 222-3241
