Offer Condolences or MemoryANN CHANWAY (nee JACKNICKI) January 7, 1919 - December 18, 2002 Ann Chanway passed away peacefully and suddenly on Wednesday, December 18, 2002 at the Grace General Hospital with her family by her side. Ann was predeceased by her husband William; son Michael; parents, Michael and Lily; brother Stanley; sisters, Josephine, Jean and identical twin sister Mary. She is survived by sons, Garry (Christine), Alan, Leslie; daughter Patricia (Jim) grand-children, Carin (John), Michael (Mary), Jason, Amy, Jimmy; and great-grandson Branden. She is also survived by her sisters, Angela and Emily; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. Ann has spent the past five and one-half years as a resident at the Deer Lodge Centre. Ann was a deeply spiritual person and a longtime member of St. Alphonsus Parish and the St. Alphonsus Catholic Womens League for the past 35 years. Anns Catholic faith was very important to her and she was a deep inspiration to all who knew and loved her. Although she was shut in for a number of years, Ann enjoyed her life to the fullest. She loved her family and friends dearly and had a very positive outlook on life despite her physical limitations. Ann spent much of her free time in prayer and always remembered the personal intentions of anyone in need. The family would like to thank the staff of Lodge 4 west at the Deer Lodge Centre and the staff of the Grace General Hospital, Barb Blair R.N., Anna Marten R.N., Dr. Tim McDowell and Fr. Glofcheski of St. John XXIII Parish. Prayers will be held at Green Acres Funeral Chapel on Sunday, December 22 at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Frank Conway presiding. Mass of the Christian Resurrection will take place on Monday, December 23 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, 341 Munroe Ave. with Cap., Pastor Jorge Villegas O.F.M. officiating. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined.
