FRANK ANDREW June 26, 1913 - December 18, 2002 With great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather Frank Andrew. He resided these last few months at Deer Lodge Centre where nurses and staff gave him the utmost loving care, which we greatly appreciated. He was predeceased by his wife Eleanor (born December 18, 1915) in 1998; also his first child Valerie; and his siblings, Tom, Herb, Bill and sister Edith Carley. He is survived by daughters, Maureen Embury (Ted), Terry Sykes (Murray), Linda and Darlene; grandchildren, Jennifer, Valerie and Owen Hanna, Geordy, Sheena and Jeremy Sykes; and great-grandchild Brenden Clark. Dad was born and raised in Winnipeg and often talked fondly of youthful adventures, especially the dances at Winnipeg Beach and around the city. He met mom and they married December 5, 1940, and raised their family in St. James on Inglewood Street. He worked for 35 years with the Department of National Defense until his retirement. He served his country during the war and was stationed in England where he was able to meet his Welsh cousin, Jennifer, and made some lifelong friends. Dad enjoyed traveling, fishing, bowling and really enjoyed a good game of crib. He was a very kind and generous man and will be sadly missed. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 22 at 3:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. If friends so desire donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
