RONALD MICHAEL KOWALCHUK December 31, 1945- December 18, 2002 With courage, dignity and at peace, surrounded by his loving family, Ron passed away on Wednesday at Concordia Hospital. With sadness in our hearts, he leaves the three loves of his life, wife Moira; and sons, Cory and Adam. Ron is also survived by his mother Frances Kowalchuk; mother-in-law Patricia McConnon; sisters, Sandra Shaw, Jessica Pynoo; many nieces, nephews, close relatives and friends. Ron was predeceased by his loving father Michael. Ron was born in Winnipeg and raised in the North End. After finishing school, Ron was a loyal and faithful employee of the CNR, where he loved to work, and retired after 30 years of service. Ron had a passion for woodworking and a talent for art. His favourite times were spent with his family at the cottage at Still Cove. Ron also loved gardening, fishing, and campfires with friends and family. He had a lifelong commitment to physical fitness and spent many hours in his favourite place, the CN gym. The Kowalchuk family would like to express their appreciation to the compassionate nursing staff at Concordia Hospital, Oncology Dept. and 3rd Floor. A very special thanks to Dr. Pat Harris for all her support. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 23 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, 505 Brewster St., with Fr. Carl Tarnopolski and Fr. Wenceslao Rebillaco officiating. Service will terminate at the Chapel. Pallbearers will be Rons nieces and nephews, Kelly and Rob, Scott and Leeanne, Korin and Todd. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Rons memory to Concordia Hospital, 1095 Concordia Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2K 3S8.
