Date of Passing: Dec 20, 2002
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEUGENE DUBINSKI It is with deep regret we announce the sudden passing of our father and grandfather, Eugene Dubinski, on December 20, 2002 at the Health Sciences Centre. Eugene leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his children, daughter Susan Suderman (Bill) and son Greg Dubinski; grandchildren, Dustin, Corey and Jessica Suderman. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Helen Dubinski; his brother Ron; his wife Diane Dubinski; and his son Terry Dubinski. Eugene had been a teacher for 30 years, specializing in Grades 7 and 8 mathematics. Some of the schools where he taught included Cloverleaf, Beausejour, Tyndall and Lac du Bonnet, where his students still recall his positive influence upon their lives. As a student himself, Eugene loved political science and history. During his teaching career, Eugene also maintained many other interests. These included his writing, training guard dogs and obedience training, his music, both as a teacher and as a musician of guitar and violin, playing in three different bands. His fiddle playing shall be missed by the Beausejour Legion, where he recently played for the enjoyment of others. An avid family man, Eugenes grandchildren were a source of great pride to him. Time with his family included many enjoyable hours playing chess, discussing world events, gardening and planting trees together. An entrepreneur at heart, Eugene always appreciated the finer things in life. Eugene considered himself to be "a bit of an eccentric, and proud of it!" Prayers will be offered Monday evening, December 23 at 7:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Funeral rites to follow on Tuesday, December 24 at 11:00 a.m. also at the chapel, with Fr. Michael Krochak officiating. Internment to follow at the family plot, Millbrook Cemetery. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
