Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDENNIS EDWARD MASSEY 1949 - 2002 Dennis Edward Massey, beloved husband of Lesley Massey (nee McIntaggart), of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills Hospital on Wednesday, December 18, 2002, from multiple injuries sustained in a motor vehicle collision, at the age of 53 years. Dennis was born on May 11, 1949, in Stonewall, MB, where he received his education. After working for his Uncle Ray Annings investigation firm, he joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1971. Being a policeman was the greatest joy in his life and his greatest gift. He was the ultimate people person which made him excel in his work. Dennis was involved in his community as a volunteer with Calgary Stampede, Big Valley Jamboree, Ronald MacDonald House, Houston-Calgary Bike Relay and Fanconis Anemia. His marriage to Lesley on September 3, 1994, brought the greatest friendship and love to a union of soul mates with a shared passion for country music, people and laughter. Dennis was a larger than life individual: that is how he dreamed, that is how he worked, and that is how he loved. His passing will leave a void in many lives and he will be well remembered. Besides his loving wife Lesley, Dennis is survived by his mother Erna; his brother and sister-in-law Glen and Lynn; a sister Diane; and their children David, Dawn and Brenda, Erin and Jenna, all of Winnipeg, MB. He is also survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law Gib and Doreen McIntaggart; a brother-in-law Glen, all of Regina, SK; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Michael and Gayle; and a nephew Kyle, all of Airdrie, AB. Dennis was predeceased by his father Edward.
