FRANK MELNYK 1936 - 2002 On Thursday, December 19, 2002, at the Grace General Hospital, Frank Melnyk peacefully passed away with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Mary; and his brothers, Murray and Tony. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sonia; his four daughters, Shelley (John), Alyson (Charles), Cindy (Kirk) and Stacey; grandchildren, Maria (Devin), Anthony, Kiera and Luke; his brothers, Bill (Lena), and Mike; sister-in-law Olga; and brother-in-law Dennis (Sandra). Frank was born March 2, 1936, in the RM of Silver Creek to Peter and Mary Melnyk. Frank grew up on a farm south of Rossburn. When he was 16 he tried working at various jobs, then decided that wasnt for him. At age 18, he started his own business. Over the years he had a road gravelling business, a garage, equipment and vehicle dealership, a farm, cattle ranch, window tinting business and finally, a fertilizer manufacturing company. Our heartfelt thanks go to Dr. A.N. Schroeder, and to all the caring and compassionate staff of 3N, Grace Hospital, who made Franks last days comfortable and who gave such caring support to his family. A public viewing will be held on December 23 at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave St., Winnipeg, MB. Funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bruce Martin officiating. Interment to follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace Hospice in care of Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3R5, or to Calvary Temples Youth Camp, 400 Hargrave St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 3A8.
