THERESE ROCHON (nee THERRIEN) November 1, 1916 - December 20, 2002 Peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family early Friday morning, December 20, 2002 at St. Boniface General Hospital at the age of 86 years. We were blessed to keep Mother an extra 25 years after her first major heart attack. On numerous occasions, we were summoned by the health services to attend to our dying mother. Time after time she managed near miracle recoveries. This time however, a series of mini strokes were too much to handle. Mother knew she was leaving us but was comfortable that other family members were waiting for her in heaven. Her family not only had a chance to say Adieu Mama but also to wish her a bon voyage. We all loved her and now we all mourn her departure. Mother is survived by two sons, Denis (Sonia) and Charlie (Betty) three grandchildren, Eryn, Radclyffe (Bruce), Jean-Paul (Corinna) two great-grandchildren, Emily and Kylee; daughter-in-law Della and her family; sister Florence McLean; and brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Ida Therrien of Ottawa; and numerous relatives, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her daughter Martha in 1949, husband Georges in November 1995 and son Robert in July 1996. Special thanks to Dr. K.S. Jolly and Susan, St. Boniface General Hospital A5 and to her caregivers, especially Heather, Ziggy and Betty. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 27 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Annes Church, 528 Old St. Patricks St. in Ottawa followed by internment at Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
