ALEXANDER E. ROGERS On Thursday, December 12, 2002, Alexander Rogers passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his daughters, Judi (Albert) and Barbara (Bob) son Mark (Ann) five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Jean, Charles, Aimee, Herb and Connie. Alex was predeceased by his wife Mary in 1992 and siblings, William, Olive and Mel. Alex was born on April 25, 1924 and grew up in Stenen, SK. He moved to Winnipeg at the age of 17 to work and develop his many skills as a jack of all trades. Alex and Mary were married in 1946. He enjoyed carpentry work the most, building many homes and schools in his career including their own home in St. Vital. In 1963 Alex and Mary embarked on a new career together opening Golden Crust Bakery on St. Annes Rd. They ran the bakery for 14 years. After closing the bakery, Alex continued working as a carpenter/tradesman until his retirement. He continued to enjoy the outdoors - youd often find him working outside at his table saw on his latest project. In keeping with Alexs wishes, cremation has taken place. A private interment will be held at a later date. A special thank you to his home care nurses, Edna, Irene and Hazera for looking out for Dad over the years.
