JAMES DONOVAN GRAHAM
Born: Feb 14, 1924
Date of Passing: Dec 12, 2002
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES DONOVAN GRAHAM Don Graham passed away on December 12, 2002 after a 15 year battle with cancer. Don was born at Wellwood, MB, on February 14, 1924, and was the last surviving member of a large pioneer family. Don moved with his family to Minnedosa, MB, in 1934, where he completed his schooling. In the fall of 1941, he went wiping in the shops for the Canadian Pacific Railroad, and a couple of months later he joined the Navy. He was discharged in 1945, and went back to work for the C.P.R. as a fireman in Minnedosa, Binscarth and Thunder Bay. In 1948, Don married Pearl Worth of Newdale, MB, and they started a family. In the fall of 1951, Don moved his family to Kenora, ON, where he worked as an engineer with the C.P.R. until 1984. That was the year he retired and moved with Pearl to Winnipeg - in the following years they took many trips together and Don lived life to the fullest. Don spent his final days surrounded by the love and care of his family and kept his unique sense of humour to the end. Those that remain to carry on his memory include his wife Pearl, children, Lynn (Richard), Norman (Louise), and Sharon (Walter) grandchildren, Christy (Ted), Justin, James Donovan and Jesse; and two very dear great-grandchildren, Scotia and Chase. Special thanks to Dr. Saunders, Dr. Jason and the Palliative Care Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully accepted to the Canadian Cancer Society.
