DAVID H. EPP 1918-2002 In the early evening of December 20, 2002, David, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, Uncle Dave was released from this life filled, over the last 27 years, with much physical pain and suffering to go to a place of peace. To his wife of very nearly 60 years, Elizabeth (Betty) their son David and daughter-in-law Donya; grand-children Susan and Tim (Salzen), Peter, Lorraine and Jeff (Peitsch), Greg, Linda, David, Peter and Lucas, he was special in so many ways, but especially because his generous nature was always focused first on their lives and interests and achievements, never on his personal, more difficult circumstances. He was as delighted as could be to have great-grandchildren, Carlyn, Danielle, Jeffy and Colin added to the family. It is only regrettable that he will not be here longer to enrich their lives, too. He deeply missed their daughter, Judy, since she was taken away suddenly and tragically 27 years ago when she was only 30. He also leaves, to mourn his passing and to remember his remarkable life, one sister and three brothers, several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and many loyal friends and collehumble beginnings. Their parents, Henry and Helene, brougagues. The third youngest of 10 children, David was born into ht them to Canada from Ukraine in 1925 to assure a better life for them all. David took advantage of the opportunities available to him, graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, established a successful business in residential construction and demonstrated what can be achieved through a combination of intelligence, hard work and the enduring support of a loving partner. Selfless and giving in nature, it was the company of close family and friends that inspired him above all and allowed him to show over and over again his consistently optimistic, happy spirit. David will be forever missed by all who knew him but especially by his beloved wife Betty, who devoted her life to his well-being, his son, his grandchildren and great grandchildren and good friends and relatives. A service of remembrance will be held on Monday, December 23 at 1:30 p.m. at The First Mennonite Church, Notre Dame Avenue at Alverstone Street in Winnipeg. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of David may be made to The Health Sciences Centre Foundation (designated to support spinal cord research), 800 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 9Z9. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
