Marjorie was born at home in Swan River, MB, on February 10, 1930, the youngest child to George and Elizabeth Elviss. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 50 years, Jock; daughters, Marilyn (Dave Kasper) and Barbara (David Morrison) grandchildren, Kris, Kurt, Caitlin and Josh; her sisters, Anne Elviss and May Madill; nephews, David (Brenda), Ty, Shawn (Rose), Jim (Sharon) and niece Heather (Wesley Hofford) and their families; sisters-in-law, Nessie (Don White) and Bunty Karlowsky; brothers-in-law, Wally Reid (Betty) and Gordie Reid (Joan) and families; and many special friends. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents George and Elizabeth; her brother Tom; brother-in-law Keith Madill; sister-in-law Theresa; and sister Eleanor. Marjories family and her many friends will always remember her as the woman who would never sit down; whether she was cooking for her family, doing something for her grandchildren or down at the church making meat pies, Marj was always doing for others. After working for Manulife for many years, Marj moved to Magikist Ltd. until her retirement in 1989. After her retirement she spent her time volunteering with the UCW at Grey Street United Church and doing whatever she could for her family. Mom loved her flower beds and garden and we know there will be a garden up in Heaven waiting for her. Viewing will be held on Friday, December 27 between 7:00 and 8:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Grey Street United Church with Rev. Earl Gould officiating. The family would like to thank Dr. Duerksen and Anna at Concordia Hospital and Georgina Bradley for all your care and compassion with our mom. Thank you to special friends who came to visit Mom and give us their support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Memorial Fund in care of Grey Street United Church, 651 Sandhurst, Winnipeg, MB R2L 1B1. You never asked for favours Yet you did them everyday. You never asked for any help. Yet you gave so much away. You never asked for gratitude And yet, our whole life through Well be forever grateful For your precious love and YOU.
