Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPATRICIA HILDA JANE BERENS Peacefully after a lengthy illness, on Friday, December 20, 2002 at the Health Sciences Centre, Patricia Hilda Jane Berens passed away at the age of 70 years. Patricia was born at Berens River on February 7, 1932, residing there until the time of her passing. Her family was the most important part of her life, especially her grandchildren. Patricia was a loving person, who welcomed everyone who came to her house. She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed cooking for her family. She loved attending Berens River Roman Catholic Church and enjoyed reciting the rosary. She was a good Christian lady. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory her husband Edmund; children, Josephine Berens (John), Keith Berens (Lena), Bernadette Hinchcliffe (Delbert), Norman Berens (Yvonne), Leon Berens (Melvina), Alvina Berens, Betsy Berens (Allan), Rose Goosehead (Lawrence), Katherine Sutherland, Hilton Berens (Bertha), Bernard Berens (Louisa), Lesley Berens (Logan), Shannon Flett (Bailey) and Jorey Whiteway. One brother Laurie McKay (Agnes), sisters, Madeline Bittern, Theresa Everett (William) and Rosalie Baptiste (Boniface) and half-sister Nora Patrick; special friends, Winnie Kuldys and Rosie George. There are 40 plus grandchildren, 30 plus great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Betsy McKay; sister Bernice McKay; brother Frank Bittern; grandson Todd Berens; and aunt Virginia Boulanger. Prayers were said on Sunday, December 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Ave. at Parr Street, Winnipeg. Wake services will be held on Monday, December 23, Tuesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 25 at Berens River. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 26 at 1:00 p.m. at the Berens River Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Rheal Forest officiating. Interment to follow at Berens River Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Berens, Norman Berens, Leon Berens, Hilton Berens, Bernard Berens and Allan Atlookan. Active pallbearers will be Morden Everett, Wallace Everett, Teddy Berens, Dwayne Berens, Junior McKay and K.C. McKay. ABORIGINAL FUNERAL CHAPEL 724 SELKIRK AVE. 586-7700
