Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIOLET LILLIAN KIRK (nee STEWART) After a long and fruitful life of service, our Mom (Nana) has gone home to be with her Lord and Saviour JESUS. She passed away at the St Boniface Hospital on December 18, 2002 at the age of 91. Her husband Joseph Edward Kirk; her father William and mother Francis; her three brothers and three sisters predeceased her. Left to mourn her death are her sons, Richard (Pat) of Winnipeg, Bob (Jan) of Scottsdale AZ, Jim (Louise) of Columbia CA. Her two surviving sisters, Nellie Smith of Vernon BC, Margaret Sewell of Port Alberni BC. Her 15 grandchildren and their spouses, and her 22 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild. Mom was born in Foxmead ON, and moved to Swift Current with her family when she was just a little girl. She and Joseph Kirk were married in Calgary in 1928 and they lived in Macleod and Lethbridge as well as Calgary until they moved to California in 1962. After Dads death in 1966 Mom moved to Modesto CA where she became the housekeeper for the Augustinian Order of Priests that taught at the Central High in Modesto. She was much loved by "Her Boys", but especially Fr. Jim Mott, Fr. John Glynn and Fr. Tom Padberg. Upon retirement she moved back to Canada and took up residence in Winnipeg. Her many friends and family will miss her grace and the beautiful way she had of making each one feel as though they were very special and precious to her. And they were. We wish to thank and acknowledge the wonderful home care workers who made moms last year in her apartment possible. Your love and concern for her well-being was obvious in your respectful and loving treatment of her. To the nursing staff at the St. Boniface hospital we also wish to thank and acknowledge your care and treatment of our Nana, which went beyond your professional duties and became personal. To her many friends at Boulton Bay, we thank you. Her life in the complex over the past 14 years was complete because of your friendship and love. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, January 3 in the common room of her apartment building, No. 1 Boulton Bay at 2:00 p.m. She will be taken to Tracy California, where she will be interred alongside her husband Joseph. Leatherdale Gardner in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the charity of your choice in her name. LEATHERDALE GARDINER 1858 Portage Avenue. 949-4872
