DORA BELSHAM It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Dora Belsham, peacefully, at the age of 83 years, at the Villa Youville, Ste. Anne, MB, on December 21, 2002. Dora was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and neighbours. She was born in Belmont, MB, on October 23, 1919, and was raised and attended school in Monominto. Dora was predeceased by Chris, her husband of 59 years, in 1997. They were married on December 3, 1938, and lived on the farm near Anola all of their married lives. She loved her garden and her flowers, and enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Dora was also predeceased by her parents Alvin and Mabel Carruthers; twin sister Alice; sister Mary; and brother Edward; and is survived by sister Edith of Vancouver. She is also survived by her six children, George (Liz) of Vancouver, Bill (Carol) of Winnipeg, Charles (Marge) of Winnipeg, Phyllis (Roger) Lavergne of Winnipeg, David (Doris) of Dufresne, Jim (Tina) of Anola; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel., Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road, with Rev. Jane Wetelainen officiating. Interment will be held at Millbrook Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of D Ward at Villa Youville for their special care and kindness, and a special thanks to Sister Rioux and Sister Forrest for their thoughtfulness and support in recent weeks. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Doras memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2M8.
