EDWARD GRAEB 1914 - 2002 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Ed on December 22, 2002 to be with his Saviour. He is remembered by his wife who was married to him for 60 years Anne; his son John and wife Lynne; his daughter Christa and husband Paul Webster; his grandchildren, Brian (Lisa), Eric (Carla), Christopher Graeb and Andrew and Kristen Webster; and one great-grandchild Anna Graeb. He is survived by many family members in Germany including his sister Erika Hessmer and her family; and his brother, Pastor Paul Graeb and his family. Ed was born in Madang, Papua, New Guinea at the start of the first Great War to missionaries, Ernst and Minna Graeb. They returned to Germany where Ed was educated and worked as a purchasing agent for Krupp Steel Manufacturing. He survived six years of the Second World War. He immigrated to Canada in 1957, living first in Steinbach and then Winnipeg. He worked many years for Kleysen Transport in the accounting department. He was very active in Hope Lutheran Church as an Elder before he was incapacitated. He enjoyed the cottage life at Grand Beach for over 20 years. Special thanks to the staff of Central Park (Poseidon) for their care and support. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). Interment will take place in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre.
