Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIVAN (JOHN) HYKAWY 1920 - 2002 Ivan Hykawy passed away after a prolonged illness, in the presence of his friends on Sat-urday, December 21, 2002. Ivan was born in the village of Kobylovoloky, Ternopil Province, Ukraine. He was predeceased by his wife Anne; parents, Matvii and Maria. He leaves to remember his memory his brother Omelian and numerous nephews and nieces in Ukraine as well as many friends here in Winnipeg. Ivan came to Canada in 1953 from England. He owned and operated Johns Barber Shop in St. James and was a longtime member of St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church. Ivan was a member of Institute Prosvita Seniors Club, Selkirk Avenue Seniors Club and the Oaklanders Social Club. Prayers will be sung 5:30 p.m. Friday, December 27 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 28 at St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church, 160 Euclid Ave., with Rev. J. Holowaty officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Gratitude is extended to all those who looked after Ivan the months prior to his passing, especially the staff at Jocelyn House.
