Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNELLIE SOPIWNYK Peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2002, at the age of 86 years, Nellie passed away at Lions manor, with her family at her side. Left to mourn her passing are her sons, Larry (Connie), Dwight (Gladys) grand-children, Dwayne (Carmen), Rod (Cheryl), Guy (Tatjana), Todd, Darolyn (Steve Pchajek) great-grandchildren, Matthew, Spencer, Jordan, Alexandra Sopiwnyk and Joshua Pchajek; also nieces, nephews and many friends. Predeceased by her husband Bill in 1992 after 56 years of marriage; stepson John; brothers, Bill and Nick Sivak; sisters, Annie Sivak and Mary Dutka. Nellie was born in St. Andrews, MB, on January 20, 1916, marrying Bill in 1936 and resided in Caliento, MB, and shortly after moved to Winnipeg. Nellie worked at Eatons Grill Room and later at Gunns Bakery. Nellie had a large circle of friends. She was a gracious hostess as well as a great cook. In 1979 they retired to Kelowna where they resided for 14 years. Shortly after Bills passing Nellie moved back to Winnipeg where she resided until her passing. Grandmas greatest love and interest were her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be her four grandsons, Dwayne, Rodney, Guy, Todd; and Steve Pchajek and Art Hilderman. In lieu of flowers donations gratefully accepted to "Treasured Memories Fund" at Lions Manor, 320 Sherbrook St., or Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. A special thank you for the compassion, understanding and love from all the staff at Lions Manor, reflecting the excellent leadership of the people in charge on the 4th Floor. Visitation will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., Thursday, December 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 27 at 2:00 p.m., also at Glen Eden Funeral Home.
