JACK SITTER Peacefully, on December 23, 2002 at the Grace Hospital, Jack Sitter passed away at the age of 81 years. Predeceased by his parents and brothers, George, John and Joseph, he is survived by his sisters, Sister Mary Irene O.S.E. and Anne; brothers, Paul and Fr. Charles S.J.; and by lifelong friend Olinda Fritzler; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Born in Ladywood, MB, Jack grew up on College and Machray Avenues, attending St. Josephs School. He served with the Canadian Armed Forces during the Second World War in England, Italy and northern Europe. Upon his return to Winnipeg he was employed by Canada Post until his retirement in 1976. Jack will be remembered as a kind and caring person with an easy going and gentle nature. Jack spent his leisure time fishing, travelling throughout Manitoba and the U.S.A., as well as spending many years at his summer home in Vivian, MB, a building project in which he took great enjoyment and pride. The family extends their sincere appreciation to Dr. T. Aldor and the ER and 5th floor staff at the Grace Hospital for their care and compassion. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, December 27, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Marys Cathedral, 353 St. Mary Ave. with Fr. D. Gurr officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crohns Foundation of Canada or to a charity of your choice in Jacks memory. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
