WALTER S. MCLACHLAN Walter passed away on December 24, 2002 surrounded by his wife Sonia of 51 years, and his loving children. Walter was born in London, ON on January 28, 1926. He was predeceased by his parents; sister Kay and three brothers, Ted, Harold and Ken. Left to mourn his passing are his devastated children, Wendy (Lenn) Samborski and their children, Paul and Laura; Gregory (Tammy) McLachlan and his children, Amy and Ashley; Karen Barry Smith and her children, Megan, Justine, Jordan, and Madison; Glenn (Diana) McLachlan and their daughter Kayla; two remaining sisters in London, Mary Farquhar and Joyce Molnar; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Peter Field and their family; niece Lynda Will; numerous relatives and friends. Walter lived his life fully, as an assistant manager of Gestetner Canada and later as owner of N-Rich Plant Food Inc. in Humboldt, SD. Retirement for him was a real adventure, planning many activities with his adored grandchildren at their cottage. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 31, at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Pastor Devon Clunis officiating. Gratitude is extended to Dr. Choptiany, Dr. E. A. Lyons, Dr. White at Seven Oaks Emergency and the truly lovely nurse named Trinity who helped Walter and his family through this traumatic ordeal. Flowers are gratefully declined, those who wish may make donations to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, R3E 0V9 or a charity of your choice. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
