ALBERT ARTHUR ERNEST CHESNEY (ERNIE) (1927 - 2002) Peacefully after a lengthy illness, Ernie passed away on the Medical Ward at Boundary Trails Health Centre on December 26, 2002. He is survived by his wife Lorraine (Anne) of Morden; daughter Vonnie, husband Lloyd of Morden, their children Robyn, Karla and husband JP and Amber; daughter Valerie, husband Howard of Headingley, their children, Amanda, Dan, Scott; son Kevin, his wife Lynn of Abbotsford, BC, their son Rhys; son Kelly, his wife Sarah of Singapore, and their children, Megan, Owen, and Leah. Ernie is also survived by his sister Viona Fraser (Bill) of Neepawa. He was predeceased by his parents, Art and Dora Chesney; and brother Gilbert Chesney. Ernie was born January 12, 1927 in Rossburn Hospital. He received his education from Isley School and Rossburn High School. He was employed by MTS in Brandon and Winnipeg for 17 years and then worked for Manitoba Hydro until his retirement in 1987. Ernie and Anne retired to Morden and have lived there ever since. Ernie was passionate about his grandchildren and hockey, particularly a devoted fan to the Toronto Maple Leafs. He also loved to spend his spare time on his daughter and son-in-laws farm. Special thanks to Dr. Bob Menzies who was always there for him, and to Barb Hicks and the Medial Ward Staff for unlimited compassion and care. Thank-you to his Home Care Staff at Legion House II. Flowers are gratefully declined. If so desired, donations may be made to Boundary Trails Palliative Care, BTHC, Box 2000 Winkler MB, R6W 1H8. At his request, cremation has taken place. Interment will be held at a later date when all children will be present. Arrangements entrusted to Doyles Funeral Home, Morden. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
