JAMES ALFRED NUTTALL Peacefully, on December 24, 2002, Alf passed away after a brief illness at the age of 85. He was born December 19, 1917 near Broomhill, MB. After serving in the RCAF from l939 to l945, he had a lifelong career with the CNR and VIA Rail until his retirement in l982. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Nancy; and his brother Walter. Alf is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Grace, daughters, Jan Thiessen (Grant) and Nancy Stanwick (Richard) two grandchildren, Ryan (Sharon) and Christina; one great-grandson, Callum; brother Clarence; sister-in-law Rae; and many nieces and nephews. Alf was active for many years with the CN Veterans Association. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, travel, music and nature. He was a humble and kind man, always there for his family and willing to help anyone. Alf will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 3, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Regents Park United Church, 613 St. Marys Rd., St. Vital, Winnipeg. Reception to follow in the church Fellowship Hall.
