Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL GANSKE December 27, 1915- December 26, 2002 Peacefully on December 26, 2002 at the Health Sciences Centre, Paul passed away with his family at his side. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Emily Ganske; and siblings, Martha, Bertha, William, Violet, and Archie. He is survived by his wife Helen; children, Alan (Marlene), Debra (Ian), Wayne (Yvonne), Tim (Tracey) grandchildren, Drew, Celene, Aaron, Craig, Chelsea, Madison; sisters, Della, Eleanor, Betty, and numerous family and friends. Paul was born December 27, 1915 and spent his early years in Dominion City, MB. He was a hard workingman who was known as a "Jack of all Trades". He worked as a carpenter and contractor for 20 years. When work was scarce during the winter, he enjoyed heading for the bush with his machinery to plane lumber. Planing lumber was as he put it "my way of being sure I was never without work: In 1963 he accepted a full time position with the Manitoba Government as a Maintenance Superintendent, servicing water plants throughout the province where he continued until his retirement in 1981. Upon retirement he accepted contract work with Arnason Construction. This work took on special meaning as he teamed up with his son Wayne. One of his proudest life accomplishments was building the family home in Lockport, Manitoba with the help of family and friends. He lived in this home for over 40 years. Throughout his life he was always willing to use his tools and skills to help family and friends with any project. From basement finishing, a deck, a house addition, fixing a lawnmower or television, no job was too big or too small. In retirement years he developed an interest in golfing, and also took pleasure in the activities of his grandchildren. He often recalled moments with his grandchildren including special conversations, watching them at play, or their accomplishments in hockey, soccer, softball and dancing. His family wish to express special thanks to Home Care, as with their assistance, Paul was able to remain living independently in his home. Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Highway #1 East at Green Acres Lane. Viewing one half hour prior to service. A private family interment will be held at a later date in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Pauls memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
