Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLUCILLE VAN VEEN MYERS COME UNTO ME, ALL YE THAT LABOUR AND ARE HEAVY LADEN, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST Mrs. Lucille Van Veen Myers, beloved wife of the late Gordon Frank Myers, passed away quietly at home on Sunday, December 22, 2002 at the age of 82 years. Lucille was born in Winnipeg, MB on October 6, 1920. She grew up around her fathers medical practice and often accompanied him on house calls. She passionately loved her horses and pet dogs. When her mother passed away suddenly in 1936, she, along with her sister Helen, took over household duties to help out. Lucille married Gordon in 1947 and raised two children (Gordon and Geraldine) while in Winnipeg. She was a devoted mother and wife who loved to cook and tend her flower gardens. Their home was always open to their many friends. She and Gordon had a passion for spending time at their lake cottage in the Whiteshell and in later years she discovered fishing and did so at every opportunity. Lucille and Gordon moved to Lethbridge, AB in 1994 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. She will be forever remembered by her children, Gordon (Marion) Myers and Geri (David) Danylchuk of Lethbridge; and her grandchildren, Mindy and Robert Myers and Amy and Alana Danylchuk. She will also be sadly missed by her sister Helen Bohonos of Lethbridge. Lucille was predeceased by her husband Gordon in 1997; by her father and mother, Dr. Henry Yonker and Anna Yonker; and also by her brother Zenon Yonker. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Christensen Salmon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers Lucille requested any memorial donations be made to the Lethbridge Humane Society, P.O. Box 783, Lethbridge, AB T1J 3Z6, or to a charity of your choice. She will be sadly missed.
