LYDIA BETKER Lydia Betker, aged 83 years, of Lac du Bonnet, MB passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 26, 2002 at the Pinawa Hospital. Lydia will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Shirley (Harold) Krebs of Beausejour; and sons, Wilf (Mildred) of Winnipeg and Randy (Della) of Lac du Bonnet; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; her sister Molly Freund and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur; and sons Dennis, Kenneth and Leonard; four brothers and two sisters. Lydia was born in Friedensfeld, MB on December 24, 1919. She married Art on March 31, 1939. They moved to Lowland and farmed there for many years. They then moved to Lac du Bonnet and Lydia worked at Pinawa Hospital as a cook for several years. Mom loved sewing, needlework and crocheting afghans. She also loved her garden and had flowers everywhere. Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 30 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Cross, Lac du Bonnet, with Pastor Ingthor Isfeld officiating. Interment will follow in the Lac du Bonnet cemetery. Family and friends may view on Sunday from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue E., Beausejour and also at the church prior to the service. Flowers are gratefully declined.
