STANLEY (STAN) COOK 1912 - 2002 Peacefully, on Saturday, December 28, 2002, in Riverview Centre, at the age of 90 years. Stanley was predeceased by his wife Marguerita "Rita" (nee Thirde) son James Ernest; Mother and Father, Lily and Ernest; and two brothers, Harold and William "Bill". He leaves behind to cherish his memories his daughter Doreen Isabel; son William Barry and his wife Elizabeth. He will also be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law, Sophie Cook of Winnipeg, Hilda Cook of B.C., Anna Thirde of B.C., and Alice "Ping" Matthews of California; his many nieces and nephews, especially his niece Karen Flanigan. Stanley Cook was raised and lived in Ninette, MB and Winnipeg. Prior to retirement, he worked mainly with Vulcan Iron and Engineering/Bridge and Tank Steel works. Special thanks are extended to the caring staff of the Riverview Rehab Centre, and the care and support of the staff of the Health Sciences Centre where he was for two months. Flowers are gratefully declined and if friends so desire, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Society, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6 or to the charity of ones choice. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 31, at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A reception will follow in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre.
