MARTHA ADAMS 1909 - 2002 It is with great sadness that Martha Adams, our dearly beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, aged 93, passed away peacefully December 29, 2002 at Misericordia Health Centre. Martha was predeceased by her husband Frederick George Adams, a decorated Hong Kong veteran of the Winnipeg Grenadiers. Martha was born in Ruckenau, Russia, April 10, 1909 and immigrated to Canada in September of 1924 with her father Peter Wiebe, mother Susan and family. They resided in Saskatchewan for two years then moved to Winnipeg for the remainder of her life. Martha was the last survivor of a family of eight sisters and two brothers. She was a member of the Hong Kong Womens Auxiliary, and a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church. For many years, she was a volunteer worker at Deer Lodge Hospital. She was a loving mother and stepmother who devoted much of her time to helping others, revealing a true expression of her character. She leaves to mourn her daughter Ruth Dixon (Barry) son Gil Adams (Eva) and grandchildren, Glen Dixon (Brenda), Terry Dixon (Wendy), Michele Dixon, Randy Adams (Monique), Philip Adams (Irene), Greg Adams (Paulette), Greg Pacholek (Mary Anne) and 11 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. (entrance on Aubrey Street) on Wednesday, January 1, 2003 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on January 2 at 10:30 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. (entrance on Aubrey Street). Active pallbearers will be Randy Adams, Terry Dixon, Glen Dixon, Greg Pacholek, Vern Epp and Dave Epp. Honorary pallbearers are Gordon Doucette and Barry Dixon. Our heartfelt thanks to the 6th floor staff at Misericordia Health Centre for their excellent care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Hong Kong Veterans Trust Fund, PO Box 381, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2H6. Our sadness and sorrow will be replaced by the memories of mothers love, joy and wisdom that flowed so abundantly from her heart. God bless you and keep you mother. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
