Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRAYMOND STEWARD GAMMON October 3, 1929 - December 26, 2002 It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Ray Gammon on December 26, 2002 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Ray leaves to cherish many memories, his wife of 47 years Jean, his sons, Peter (Linda), Bill (Cindy) and Robert (Marina) his grandchildren, Christopher, Michael and Nicholas; brother Bill (Helen) sister Audrey (Larry) Kell; sister-in-law Ilene Burgess; and many special friends. Ray was born in Smooth Rock Falls, ON. He married Jean Simons on April 9, 1955. He joined the Bank of Montreal in 1948, to which he devoted 37 years of service. Throughout his career Ray was posted in five Canadian provinces, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, Alberta, Manitoba and Nassau, Bahamas. He retired in 1985 as an Executive Officer of the bank. Ray contributed much volunteer time to a number of charitable organizations, including among others, Salvation Army, United Way, CNIB, Canadian Diabetes Association, and Boy Scouts of Canada. He was a longtime member of the Manitoba Club and Rotary International. Ray was a very special person who touched the lives of all who knew him. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, travelling and his many hobbies. His family and friends will always fondly remember him. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2003 at the Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint) with a reception to follow.
