EDWARD JAMES (JIM) ROBINSON Peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2002 Edward James (Jim) Robinson, aged 67 years, passed away in Selkirk General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer and diabetes. He will be lovingly remembered by his longtime friend and companion Pat Croy; as well as his children, Jamie, Michelle (Geoff), Michael (Katherine), David (Bliss), Marlene (Bernie), Charlene (Robert), Traci, Kim (Darren) stepchildren, Kathy, Linda (Lorne) and Tim, Brenda (Jason), Allan (Carol), Barb (Lyndon), Bonnie (Michael). His sisters, Myrtle (Ernest) McKay, Amy (Tom) Thomson, Muriel (Norman) Ferris. Brother David (Anna) Robinson. Jim will be fondly remembered by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Louise 1985; his father Albert 1986; his brothers-in-law, Ernie McKay, Tom Thomson and Norman Ferris. Jim was born in Roblin, MB on March 3, 1935. He received his education at Goose Lake High in Roblin. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1952 as a Munitions and Weapons Technician. He was discharged in 1957. Jim worked at Maple Leaf Construction up until his health forced him to retire. He moved to Petersfield in 1984 where he enjoyed his life in the country. Jim met Pat in 1990. They spent their spare time at home in Petersfield working outside in the yard and doing woodworking together. His grandchildren will always have the wood toys that he made for them to keep Papa Jims memory alive. Jim was a kind and caring man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends. Jim loved to play his guitar and sing. He spent hours entertaining with his fun songs. He will be greatly missed and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the nursing staff and Dr. Demsas at Selkirk General Hospital for their wonderful care. In accordance with Jims wishes, cremation service will be held on January 3 at 10:00 a.m. at the Selkirk Legion on Evelyn Street in Selkirk. Honorary pallbearers will be the Legion members. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, Room109 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, or Manitoba Diabetes Association of Manitoba, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB.
