MIRIAM I. BALLIET (nee LIVINGSTON) October 3, 1920 - December 30, 2002 Peacefully, at Seven Oaks Hospital with her family at her side, Miriam passed away at the age of 82 years. Miriam was predeceased by her husband Edward; mother Minnie; father Jack; sister Olive and brother John. Miriam leaves to mourn her passing, her son Edward Jr. (Dawne) daughter Karen (Les) her only grandson Andy (Julie) and her youngest son David; also her sister Mary; brother Bobbie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Dryden, ON, she moved to Winnipeg with her husband Edward in the late 1940s. Her heart always remained in Northwestern Ontario, which she continued to visit for the remainder of her life. Marmers pride and joy was grandson Andy Ostrowski. She delighted in taking care of him and watching him grow up. She was very proud of Andy and his accomplishments. She was an avid reader, crossword puzzle fanatic and knitting was a favourite pastime. She knitted many things and enjoyed making blankets and slippers for her family. But what she was most proud of was her knitting of mittens to be donated to childrens charities. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of U5-3rd floor Seven Oaks Hospital and Dr. Dalling for their care and compassion during our mothers illness. Flowers are gratefully declined, if friends so wish, a donation in Miriams memory to a charity of their choice would be greatly appreciated. As requested by our mother, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. MOTHER To one who bears the sweetest name, And adds luster to the same, For theres no other, Who takes the place of Our Dear Mother. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
