May 13, 1920 - December 30, 2002 After a courageous battle with cancer, the family sadly announces the passing of their beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his loving wife of 34 years Elfrieda; his son Rudi (Yvette) and grandchildren, Adam, Erik and Martha; daughter Ingrid and grandchildren, Carlyn and Jason; stepdaughter Inga (Ed) and grand-children, Wendy and Paul (fiancee Vanessa) stepson Christian (Marlene) and grandson Logan and great-grandchild Abby; stepson Larry (Brenda) sisters, Mary (Peter), Susan (Rudi) and Joanne (late Hugh) and many extended family members, colleagues and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his infant son Franz. George was a pillar of support to all his family, friends and patients, even while fighting his disease. He served his patients to within a fortnight of his final calling. George served energetically on the board of the Manitoba Naturopathic Association, and as editor of the Camp One C.O. newsletter. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all who gave support in prayers and visits to the end. Respecting Georges wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held on Friday, January 3 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Private family interment will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mennonite Central Committee or the Salvation Army.
