Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE SOWDEN Peacefully on December 31, 2002, at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Alice A. Sowden passed away. Alice was employed with Tache Nursing Home as a caregiver for 33 years. Alice loved animals and always took the time to pet and talk with them awhile. Alice was born on March 18, 1922, in Minnedosa and spent most of her life growing up in Minnitonas. Alice met Hugh Sowden and they later married on September 6, 1947. Together they shared the birth of their only child, a son Herbert J.H. Sowden. Alice leaves to cherish her memory brothers, Cecil Ritchie, Quenell, BC, Arnold Ritchie, Minnitonas, MB; sister Iris Kshywiecki of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Keith, Danny and Michael Desmarais. She was predeceased by her husband Hugh Sowden; and two brothers, Raymond and Elmer Ritchie. Alice will be greatly missed, especially by her caregiver and friend Mary Desmarais. Visitation will take place Sunday, January 5, 2003, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. and a funeral service will be held on Monday, January 6, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave., with Pastor Jim Poirier officiating.
