DOROTHY EILEEN DIXON June 18, 1910 - January 3, 2003 Miss Dixon passed away Friday, January 3, 2003 at Central Park Lodge, Poseidon Bay, Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Margaret Dixon; her sister Hazel Dodds; brother George Dixon of Detroit, MI; her sister Lila Lyon of Winnipeg; and nephews, Kenneth Lyon and Jim Dodds. She is survived by niece Beverley Dodds; great-niece Jennifer Dodds (Chris Walter) and son Franklin; nieces, Mary Ann Dixon of Rochester Hills, MI, Katie Ingersoll and daughter Christine of Phoenix, AZ; nephews, Gerald and Pat Dixon and families in Florida; nephew Ron (Sharan) Lyon; great-niece Brenda Lyon (Mike Yacentiuk) and children Jayms, Chloe and Mikey; niece Marilyn Lyon and great-nephew Ian Brice. Eileen was born on a farm between Craik and Aylesbury, SK. The family farmed later in Grosse Isle and Stonewall areas where Eileen took her schooling. She worked 16 years with the Manitoba Telephone System in Stonewall. In 1943 she moved to Edmonton where she was employed as a telegrapher for 28 years with the C.N.R. On retirement in August, 1971, she moved to Vancouver then moved to Winnipeg in 1973. Eileen was an active member of First Presbyterian Church until her illness. She enjoyed walking, playing bridge and trips to the USA. She also travelled to Hawaii and the Bahamas and several tours to Great Britain. She had a lively sense of humour. Cremation has taken place, and interment will take place in Stonewall at a later date.
