WILLIAM (BILL) HAROLD HAYES Peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, January 2, 2003 at Grace Hospital, Bill Hayes passed away at the age of 73. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife E. Joan Hayes (nee Winter) his daughter Barbara Dunmall; grandsons, Adrian and Travis Dunmall; his close friends and cousins, Bob (Uni) Hayes and Gord (Ev) Holman; and aunts, Grace Boyle, Vo (John) Nichol and Harry Bridges. Bill was predeceased by his parents, William (1961) and Hazel Hayes (nee Bryant) (1966). Bill was born on August 6, 1929 in Souris, MB and moved to Winnipeg as a young boy. He graduated from Kelvin High School. He worked at C.N.R as a telegrapher as a young man, then on to C.B.C. from which he retired. He was a member of Manitoba Live Steamers Association since 1972. The family would like to thank the wonderful caring staff including Dr. Smart at Poseidon Care Centre, their family doctor, Dr. Hayward, Drs. Penner and Borrette at Grace Hospital for their wonderful care during his short stay in his final days. The compassion shown by each of these people will be fondly remembered as being instrumental in carrying the family through their sadness. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway (at Sherbrook) with Rev. Cannon Tony Harwood Jones officiating. Interment to take place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
