IVAN D. MORIN VE4 IM May 15, 1930 - January 2, 2003 It is with sadness we announce the passing of Ivan Morin, of Gull Lake, MB (formerly of Winnipeg, MB), on January 2, 2003, at the age of 72 years. Ivan is survived by his wife of 51 years, Aline; sons, Larry (Sharon), David (Suzanne), John (Barb) daughters, Yvonne (Laurent), Patti (Harry), Diana (Troy) 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Louis (Gerrie), Walter (Joan), Dennis (Carol), Robert (Rita), Pat (Michelle), Jim (Bernadita), Bill (Libby) and sisters-in-law, Fran Vermander and Julie Nys; and also numerous nieces and nephews. Ivan was predeceased by his parents Leo and Dolly Morin; and brother Paul; and special friend Mandy. Dad was born in New Brunswick and later moved to Ottawa where he met and married his wife Aline. They later moved to Winnipeg to raise their family. He was active in the community, and all the neighbourhood kids and animals called his house their home. He worked at the CBC until he retired in 1990. Ivan and Aline made "Tall Pines" (Gull Lake) their retirement home where they enjoyed many happy years. His pride was his yard, especially his golf course. His lifelong passion was his ham radio where he made many numerous friends all over the world. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all the nursing staff at Beausejour Health Centre for their excellent care and compassion. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 East at Green Acres Lane, with Rev. Fr. Fred Olds presiding.
