MARY ZUKE 1916 - 2003 After a brief illness, Mary passed away peacefully on January 1, 2003 at the home of her daughter. Mary was born September 22, 1916 at Poplar Park, MB, where she met and married Michael Zuke. She and Michael had a garage and store in Libau, MB until 1946 when they moved to Fisher Branch, MB, where Michael again operated a garage and machinery business. Mary was very active in Fisher Branch Womens Institute for many years and enjoyed the company and activities of that community. She loved to curl, watch baseball, hockey games and work in her garden. She was predeceased by her husband Michael in 1972 and in 1974 she and daughter Shannon moved to Winnipeg. She is survived by daughters, Phyllis (Dick) Hunt and Shannon both of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Stephen (Melanee) of Santa Monica, Susan (Dr. Daniel) Friedland and Zachary of San Diego, Keith (Jane) and Justin, Alison and Andrew of Toronto; brother John (Ann) Marko of Poplar Park; sisters, Pearl Molish and Sophie Tront of Winnipeg and long-time friend and companion Ted Wood. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Churchyard Cemetery, Poplar Park. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Marys memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or CancerCare Manitoba. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
