JOHN KOSOWAN On Friday, January 3, 2003 John passed away at Misericordia Place Nursing Home. For the past ten years Johns health had been a constant battle. He was born April 3, 1914 in Gardenton, MB. He was the eldest son in a family of nine siblings. John left the farm in his late teens to come to Winnipeg and had resided there since. He was a very devoted grandfather to his grandchildren who gave him many hours of enjoyment. John is survived by his wife Verna, daughter Barbara (Darryl) Schmidt, three grandchildren, Terry Jr. and Barbie Pruden and their father Terry Pruden and (Darryls daughter) Mercedes Schmidt. Also two of his sisters, Helen and Dorothy, mother-in-law Mary Janowski and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Sophie; by his brother Bill; sisters, Sylvia, Lee, Marion, Vi and Kay. Also by his father-in-law Marvin Janowski. Johns family would also like to express their gratitude to all of his caregivers over the years especially the staff of Misericordia Place. As per Johns wishes, there will be no service. Cremation will take place and there will be a private family interment of the ashes in the early summer. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Johns memory to the Childrens Hospital Foundation of Manitoba Inc., CE501-840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1S1. Korban Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
