CECIL ERNEST MANNESS April 1, 1927 - January 3, 2003 We are sad to announce the passing of our father, brother, husband, papa, stepfather from complications of cancer, on Friday, January 3, 2003 at Morris Hospital. Cecil was born in 1927 at the St. Boniface Hospital to his parents, Ernest and Minnie Manness. He initially lived in Winnipeg, then moved to Sanford where he attended Golden Valley School. He married Yvette Florence Guertin on October 14, 1948. He initially lived and worked in Winnipeg. He moved back to the family farm in Domain in 1950, where he lived and farmed until the last two years. After many years of farming he started a second career as a manufacturer and inventor. He invented a device called SAFTFIL and manufactured this device for the last 18 years. He was predeceased by his wife Yvette and grandson Chris. Mourning his passing is his wife Lillian, sons, Rick (Wendy), Norm (Judy), and Bob (Teresa) brothers, Trevor and Bruce; sister Donna; grandchildren, Mark, Joshua, Sarah, Shannon and David; stepchildren, Barb, Mark and Norm and their families. We wish to express our thanks to the staff of the Morris General Hospital for their professional and compassionate care. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 8 at 10:30 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, with interment to follow at Avonlea Cemetery, in Domain, MB.
