Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN "JOHN" JOSEPH FONTAINE It is with great sorrow that the family announces the peaceful passing of Jean Fontaine on January 4, 2003. Jean leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his loving wife, Therese (nee Pitre) of 57 years; nine children, Jeannette Staples, Louise (Gilles) Jeanson, Raymond (Gisele), Roland (Caroline), Paul (Shelley), Johnny (Mary), Daniel (Suzanne), Gisele Pottinger (Bob), Monique (Joey) St. Marie; also 26 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn is Jeans one brother Rosaire; and his two sisters, Sr. Roseanna Fontaine S.F.M.M. de Quebec, and Marie Jeanne Fontaine; his numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Jean enjoyed working as a truck driver for 40 years, finally retiring at the age of 63 from C.N.R. During his retirement Mom and Dad enjoyed many fishing trips and travelling to Edmonton (by train which was a real treat). Dad always looked forward to family gatherings where his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him so much joy and happiness. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. G. Lemoine, and the nurses at Ste. Annes Hospital. And a special thanks to Louise, Fran, and Sr. Rioux for their care and support shown towards Dad at Villa Youville. A celebration of Jeans life will be held on Wednesday, January 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 rue Des Meurons, with a gathering of family and friends to follow in the Desjardins reception centre. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Jeans memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 12013, Stn. Brm.
