ALLAN BERT JAMES MAYTWAYASHING It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our son, brother, uncle and nephew Allan Maytwayashing on January 3, 2003, at the age of 23 years. Allan was born January 23, 1979 in Winnipeg, MB. He enjoyed all sports and hanging out with his friends, sisters, brothers and cousins. Allan liked to draw. He leaves to mourn his mother Lynn Maytwayashing; his father Ronnie Paul; and stepfather Percy McLean; his sisters, Candace and Brooke Maytwayashing and Chrissie Paul; his brothers, Tyler Alexander, Drake and Clayton Maytwayashing; niece Raven Maytwayashing; his great-grandfather Brabant Swan; also many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Allan was predeceased by his brother Marcus Maytwayashing; grandfathers, Joe Paul (French), Allan Maytwayashing, Raymond Swan Sr.; grandmothers, Mary Paul, Christina Maytwayashing; also uncles, Roger Maytwayashing, Ronnie Maytwayashing and Lambert Maytwayashing, Raymond Swan Jr., Robert Swan; auntie Lisa Swan; cousins, Kristin Maytwayashing and Kirby Choken; aunt Brenda Stagg; uncles, Alvin Paul and Leo Paul. Wake services will be held at the residence of Lynn Maytwayashing on the Lake Manitoba First Nation January 7 and January 8. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 9 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church with Fr. David Kowalski officiating. Interment to follow in the Lake Manitoba Reserve Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Drake, Clayton, Candace, Brooke, Raven, Peter, and Christopher Maytwayashing, Curtis Hanslip, John Gabriel, Brabant Swan, Marc Sennie, and Sherman Kang. Active pallbearers will be Daryl Swan, Kelly, Harold, and Steven Maytwayashing, Darren Hanslip and Garrett Swan. The family would like to extend a thank you to the Black Bear Drum Group that came to sing at Lynn Maytwayashings residence, Ronnie Swan, Sheldon Monkman, Carl Swan, Peter Maytwayashing, Daryl Swan and Matthew Edwards.
