WILLEMINA VELDMAN Peacefully on January 3, 2003 at Park Manor Personal Care Home, while surrounded by her family, Willemina, aged 85, went to be with her Lord and Saviour. She is survived by her four children, Jenny and Allen Douma, Kay and Bill Bakker, John and Mary Veldman and Wilma and Dennis Nault; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Geesje Drooglever and Jantina Pentinga of the Netherlands. She was predeceased by her husband Jan in 1961, one sister Jantje, two brothers, Jan Zinger and Berend Zinger in the Netherlands and one grandson Peter Douma. Willemina was born in the Netherlands on March 4, 1917. She married Jan Veldman on April 27, 1947. Leaving all their extended family behind them, they immigrated to Canada in 1951 and settled in Winnipeg, later moving to Transcona. They were members of the Transcona Christian Reformed Church where she continued to be a faithful member till her death. A special thank you to all the staff on the 2nd floor of the Park Manor Personal Care Home for their care and compassion. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 8 at 2:00 p.m. at the Transcona Christian Reformed Chruch, 6 Kern Dr. Viewing will be one-half hour prior to service.
