Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA CLAPA (nee GORNA) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Clapa, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Monday, January 6, 2003 at the age of 81. Maria was born in Dobroslaw, Poland on March 12, 1921. After marrying Marian Clapa, they lived in Belgium for several years before immigrating to Canada in 1954. Left to mourn are her beloved husband Marian Clapa; daughters, Irene Pidstawka (Robert) of Arborg; Wanda Van Ryckeghem (Dan) of Winnipeg; Stanley Clapa (Patricia) of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Darlene (Rene Sutyla), Andrea (Paul Reeks), Zachary Clapa; great-grandchildren, Thomas Pidstawka, Todd Sutyla and Evan Reeks. Maria was a devoted, caring and nurturing wife and mother, who cherished the moments spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time cooking, gardening, mushroom and berry picking. Besides being a homemaker, she worked outside the home for over 20 years until her retirement, after which she enjoyed her summers camping and fishing. Maria was becoming as proficient as her husband Marian in their fishing ventures. We would like to thank all the people who helped Maria during her illness with Alzheimers, especially the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge. Viewing will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, January 10 prior to the funeral at 10:00 a.m. at St. Marys Polish National Catholic Church on 361 Burrows Ave. Interment will follow in the Polish National Cemetery. Tho Lost of Sight, to Memory Dear. We Love You Mom. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
