DOUGALDA BINGHAM With sadness we announce the passing of our mother Dougalda Bingham, aged 99, at Oakview Manor Winnipeg on January 6, 2003. She was predeceased by her husband Orval; sisters, Kay and Mary; and brothers, Dan and Harry. Dougalda was born June 12, 1903 in Cypress River, MB the youngest child of Marion and Dougald Owens. She leaves her son William Bingham and wife Dorothy; and her daughter Marian Leslie Bingham of Winnipeg. She attended Normal School in Brandon obtaining her teachers certificate. She taught in Bru, Morden and Grahamdale before leaving for Sudbury, ON in 1931 to marry Orval. The family returned to Winnipeg in 1948. After the deaths of her husband in 1976 and sister Kay in 1979 Dougalda moved to the family home in Cypress River. She returned to Winnipeg in 1996 where she resided until her death. Dougalda was a longtime member of the Rebekah Lodge, first in Sudbury then in Winnipeg where she rose to presidency of the Rebekah Assembly of Manitoba. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. A service will be held Friday January 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
