Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET FRANCES (PEGGY) RICHARDSON Peggy Richardson died January 7, 2003 at Victoria General Hospital. Peggy was born in Calgary, June 22, 1927. She moved to Winnipeg with her mother Marjorie Redding, and her sister Patricia in 1939. She attended Laura Secord and Gordon Bell schools. She married Robert Stanley (Stan) Richardson, May 13, 1950. Peggy and Stan lived on Rosewarne Avenue in St. Vital for six years, then moved to Silver Heights. They raised three sons: Robert Douglas (Rob), who died in 1993; William James (Bill), of Vancouver; and Thomas Conner (Tom), of Toronto. Peggy was involved in community and church life. For many years she was an active member of the UCW at Silver Heights United Church. In 1999, after more than 40 years on Hearne Avenue, Peggy and Stan returned to St. Vital, and have enjoyed the warm community of the Vic Wyatt House on St. Annes Road. In 1968, Peggy went to work in the insurance industry. This gave her great satisfaction. She was a woman of tremendous verve and energy and principle. These were qualities that she brought to her work, particularly with Ranger Insurance. Peggy fell ill shortly after retiring, 10 years ago. With Stans unfailing love and assistance she fought cancer and arthritis with stubborn grace and prairie practicality. She was not a sentimental or self-pitying person. Her patience and resilience and her humour amazed us. She suffered. We are grateful for her example and release. The family thanks the many friends and relatives who have supported Peggy and Stan, especially Susan Richardson and Tex Galpin. Thanks, too, to the doctors, nurses, and hospital workers who cared for Peggy, most particularly Drs. Ruth Simkin and Pat Harris. In addition to her husband and two remaining sons, Peggy is survived by her daughter-in-law Sarah, and grandson Rowan. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, January 11, 1.00 p.m., at Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch St. Reception to follow at the Vic Wyatt House, 919 St. Annes Rd. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends who wish to remember Peggy may make a donation to a charity of their choice. Mizpah
