OLGA KONYK Peacefully on January 8, 2003, with her daughters at her side, Olga Konyk (nee Elendiuk) after a courageous battle with cancer, passed on to join her loved ones who predeceased her. Olga was predeceased by her husband Andy; and her parents, Wasyl and Anna; three brothers, John, Nick and George; and her sister Wilma. She leaves to mourn her son Barry (Donita) and daughters, Barbara Walls and Andrea (Bill) Hall; grandchildren, Tricia (Pat) McIntyre, Krista (Scott) Smith, Drew and Natasha Walls and Jamie and Sammi Hall; and four great-grandchildren, Hayden, Tyler and Julia McIntyre and Logan Smith. Her brother Mike (Martha) sisters, Elizabeth and Maria; and many nieces and nephews. Mom was a lover of the arts especially music and figure skating. She was always ready for an adventure, a new restaurant, travel, shopping and an avid card player. She loved people and always had a ready smile and a kind word for anyone. She was fondly known as Baba. There will be a celebration of her life Saturday, January 11 at 2:30 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, with Rev. Keith Boughton officiating. Many thanks for the love and care provided to our Mom by Dr. Ian Maxwell and Astrid, Dr. Nora Kobrinsky, the staff of Palliative Care Manitoba and all of Moms care givers, especially her angels Nelia and Irene and her special friends Bill and Alice Kotyk.
