Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH LOUIS PATALUCK It is with great sorrow and sadness, we wish to announce the passing of our great husband and wonderful father Joe (Joey) Pataluck on Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at Concordia Hospital after a short illness. Joey was predeceased by his father Joseph; his mother Nellie; and one sister, Wanda Gusnowsky. Joey is survived by his loving wife Doris of 50 years (celebrated on November 8, 2002 at Concordia Hospital). Joey also leaves to mourn his passing, his one and only son, David and wonderful daughter, Heather and Heathers one in a million husband, Paul Beaudry. His beloved two pets, his dog Elmo and cat Attila. Joey also leaves to mourn his loving five sisters, Helen (John) Marek; Addy (Terry) Caine; Fran (George) Johnson; Marge Rideout and Beverly Schroeder, all of whom he was very proud. As well, many nieces, nephews and friends. Joey will also be fondly remembered by his caring in-laws that helped all of us get through this very difficult time. Joey was born and raised in Garson, MB. After spending some time in the army during the Second World War, he went to work in construction with his uncle Tom Urbanski. After a few years he went to work for the Winnipeg School Division No. 1 as a carpenter for 27 years, retiring at age 65. From there he took on a caretaker job at Kildonan Village, where he stayed until his illness in October, 2002. Joey loved his sports. In his younger years he played fastball with several baseball clubs where he was an ace left handed pitcher. He was also involved in bowling once a week and during the summer golfing was his passion. Through these sports and his weekly breakfast club, he made many lasting friends. We as a family would like to thank our kind and compassionate relatives, neighbors and many friends for all their prayers and visits, which made Joeys stay in hospital more bearable. We would especially like to thank Alec Shastal and John Kachur for their devotion to Joey and the cribbage games they played with him while he was there. We would also like to thank the Concordia Hospital for their wonderful care and professionalism, especially Dr. Welch and resource nurse Rhonda Heintz, who were our towers of strength during this very difficult time. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends wish, they may make a contribution to the Concordia Hospital Foundation, Humane Society, animal shelter or charity of their choice. According to Joeys wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. A private interment at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens will take place at a later date. We will love and miss you Dad. You will live on in our hearts forever. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
