STEPHEN (STEVE) SMILINSKI A Golden Heart stopped beating. Peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2003, at the Health Sciences Centre, Stephen (Steve) went to be with the Lord. Steve was born in Winnipeg on January 11, 1925. He was 77 years old. Steve was predeceased by his mother Anne; father Fred; brothers, Michael, John, Bill and Tony; and sisters Mary (in infancy) and Olga. He is survived by his sisters, Lena (John) and Marie; nieces, Marilyn and Susan; and nephews, Derrick, Gary, Johnnie and Michael and their families. They all loved him and will miss him deeply. Steve was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, great gardener and in his younger years a great fur trapper. He also enjoyed going to the horse races. Whenever anyone needed a helping hand you could always count on Steve. He also loved music and his vast library of books was there for everyone to enjoy. Steve was a self-employed plasterer with his brothers and he enjoyed his trade so much that he postponed his retirement years for a while. We would like to express our deep gratitude and thanks to all of our friends and relatives for their concern, their prayers and love during the time of Steves illness. A thank you also to Central Park Lodge, 3rd floor nurse Sheila for her kindness and care and also Perla and Maria and the rest of the staff who were so kind and caring to Steve and his family. A special "thank you" to Walt (Butchy) Steves cousin whose frequent visits were always enjoyable to Steve and brought him such great comfort and support. God bless you all. Funeral service for Steve will be held on Tuesday, January 14, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., with Very Rev. Fr. John Melnyk officiating. If so desired a donation may be made in Steves memory to St. Michaels Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 110 Disraeli St., Winnipeg, MB R2W 3J5. Those we love dont go away They walk beside us every day Beautiful thoughts and memories Are treasured forever of happy days. When we were all together. Well miss you, we love you Rest in peace, Stefan. VICHNAYA PAMYAT Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 MAIN STREET 338-7111
