HERTA PENNER (KLASSEN)

HERTA PENNER (nee KLASSEN) Herta was born June 5, 1932, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2003 at the age of 70 in Surrey, B.C. after a courageous battle with cancer. Left to mourn her passing are her husband of 44 years, Henry; daughters, Alvina and Elinor of British Columbia; son Heinz of Alberta; sons-in-law, Allan and Tom; and six grandchildren in British Columbia. Also will be sadly missed by her sister Anne and brother-in-law Nick; brother-in-law Jake; sister-in-law Maria in Germany; and many nieces and nephews in Winnipeg. A very special thank you to the compassionate palliative care nurses at home and those at Surrey Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be held at First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg, on Saturday, January 11 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Mennonite Central Committee, 134 Plaza Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
